LUCIE BAKER

bio_lucie_bakerLucie Baker hails from Seattle, Washington and moved to New York to study dance at The Juilliard School, earning her BFA in 2008. She is currently a member of Jane Comfort and Company and Erica Essner Performance Co-Op. As a dancer, she has performed in premieres by Tamar Rogoff, Carlye Eckert, Annika Sheaff, Emily Pope-Blackman, Yara Travieso, Adam Barruch, Bennyroyce Royon, Sidra Bell, Elisabeth Motley, Susan Marshall, Doug Varone, Robert Battle, Janis Brenner, Betsy Cooper and Penny Hutchinson among others. Ms. Baker grew up enjoying and performing folk dance at Lady of the Lake Dance Camp and with Vela Luka Croatian Dance Ensemble. An active choreographer, her work has been performed in New York, Seattle, New Orleans, Spain, Peru, and Germany. She most recently produced, performed and choreographed Project RUIN with fellow choreographer Carlye Eckert at Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn. Ms. Baker is committed to educational outreach through the arts as a volunteer with Artists Striving To End Poverty (A.S.T.E.P.) and a faculty member at the Chen Dance Center. luciebaker.weebly.com
